“I have had an amazing experience with all staff at Expert Education. They guided me since the beginning when I decided to start a new career path in welfare. My journey began when I studied Community Services at TAFE, a wonderful experience that allowed me to discover my passion for helping and supporting people. The most significant step in my career started this year when I decided to do a master’s degree in social work. I’m currently studying at ACAP, and I have to say that I couldn’t choose a better institution. The staff at Expert Education motivated me to do something I love, and they have always been patient, very approachable, and respectful. I highly recommend Expert Education for its professionalism and kindness”

Scholarship to study in Canada

We’ll provide you with a list of guidelines while you apply for a study scholarship in Canada.

Several universities offer various scholarships to international students like the Canada-ASEAN scholarships, Canada-CARICOM, and more.

For instance, some requirements entail the following documentation:

  • Proof of identity – This includes the requirement of a passport or national identity ex-card with valid dates and photos.
  • Proof of enrolment – You can submit the official confirmation note given by the institute where you’ve enrolled for a full-time program.
  • Letter of intent – This letter (in English / French) refers to a note from the candidate mentioning the nature of the course or research program selected. It should also mention the rationale for study in Canada and the institute you’ve chosen, and how the choice of study will help your future career, etc.
  • Letter of support – A support letter is required from the candidate’s professor, instructor or director on the official letterhead, explaining the nature of your study. The letter will also contain a note mentioning how the candidate will benefit from the scholarship program.

Many other requirements and selection processes are involved during selection for a scholarship. If you want to understand the requirements and apply for a scholarship to study in Canada, Connect with our team of experts to help you with the process.

Still got some queries

How long can I stay in Canada with a study permit?

A study permit is usually valid for the length of your study program with an extra 90 days. The additional 90 days allow you to prepare to leave Canada or apply for an extended stay. You are given conditional acceptance if your school asks you to take courses before accepting you into the main program. In this case, your study permit will be valid for the length of those courses, plus one year. You must apply for an extension if you don’t finish your course before the date on your permit.

What are some of the best part-time jobs I can do as an international student?

There are several part-time jobs you can search for, but some of the most common are:

  • bookkeeper
  • customer service assistant
  • office assistant
  • teacher’s assistant
  • server at cafés or a coffee shop
  • dog walker
What are the working hours for international students in Canada?

International students can work 20 hours per week during school semesters. The working hours can extend to 30 hours per week during school breaks.

As an international student, can I apply for permanent residency?

Applying for a permanent resident visa depends on a point-based system. The work experience gained through the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program (PGWPP) will help you garner valuable points and qualify you for permanent residency in Canada.

Will I get an internship opportunity in Canada?

This depends on the course or program you’ve selected and whether work experience is part of the curriculum.

However, you may apply for a co-op or intern work permit based on:

  • A valid study permit
  • Work experience as part of your study program
  • A letter from your school confirming the requirement of complete work placement to acquire a degree
  • Getting a co-op or internship that is 50 % or less of the total program of study
My Canada student visa application was rejected. What could be the possible reasons?

There could be several reasons why your visa application was rejected, like not submitting the requested documents, providing insufficient proof of financial support or securing a low score in your IELTS or TOEFL exam. Your previous travel history to Canada may have exceeded your temporary visa term.

Can I acquire a scholarship to study in Canada while I apply for admission into a university?

If you’re relying on scholarship funding, you should let the university know of your situation. If you do not get the scholarship, you can withdraw your university application or find an alternative method of funding before starting your term.
